High Protein Chicken Gyros
A delicious and high-protein chicken gyros with homemade tzatziki sauce and garlic flatbread.
Ingredients
- 180g Thinly Cut Chicken Breast (raw weight) (Brand: Macrofoods Skinless Chicken Breast)
- 100g Low Fat Greek Yoghurt (Brand: YoPro)
- Squeeze Of Lemon Juice
- Salt, Cumin, Smoked Paprika, Coriander Powder, Pepper (or whichever seasonings you have available)
- 5g Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Sliced Tomato
- 20g Sliced Red Onion
- Fresh Parsley (optional topping)
- 75g Low Fat Greek Yoghurt
- 5g Minced Garlic
- Dill & Salt
- Freshly Grated Cucumber
- Squeeze Of Lemon Juice
- 60g Self Raising Flour (or plain flour mixed with 1 Tsp of baking powder & salt)
- 75g Low Fat Greek Yoghurt
- Parsley Flakes (optional topping)
Instructions
- In a bowl, add low-fat Greek yogurt, lemon juice, seasonings, and garlic mince. Mix together, add the thinly cut chicken breast, coat it and set aside.
- Mix together low-fat Greek yogurt, garlic mince, dill, grated cucumber, and lemon juice.
- Bake, air fry, or grill your chicken. Optionally, place on an onion skewer in the oven. Shave the cooked chicken into smaller pieces.
- Mix self-raising flour, yogurt, and garlic powder. Knead with your hands, then roll it out. Cook it on a pan on high heat for 2 minutes on each side, adding parsley flakes if desired.
- Spread half of the tzatziki on the flatbread, add sliced tomato, onion, the cooked chicken, the rest of the sauce, and top with parsley.
Notes
Cooking Tips: You can cook the chicken in a variety of ways: on a pan, grill, in the oven, or air fryer. Using different yogurt brands can affect dough consistency; adjust flour as needed to manage stickiness. Flour your surface when rolling out the dough to prevent sticking. Fresh flatbread is recommended, but store-bought can also be used.
